I met this amazing woman earlier this year during my time in Austin. Not only does she work full time, and take care of a toddler and twin babies, but she is also starting a business as a certified lactation consultant and advisor to new moms with twins.

I loved meeting and photographing Baby B, who was less than two weeks old during this lifestyle newborn session. He’s an average-sized baby, but seeing him so small melted my heart. I think you forget how tiny babies are. They are just a human in miniature. It sounds obvious, but really, how amazing is nature that allows us to create life, and then makes these little people that will grow and grow and grow in pure perfection.

Another month done, and we are getting closer to spring, whew! I wanted to do a recap of my favorite photos I took in February. This was a slow month for me, photography-wise. My family and I had spent 9 weeks staying with my parents in Mexico, with proper COVID precautions, and we came back home in early February. My camera was ignored for quite a while…

I get approached by many pregnant women who want to get maternity photos, but when they scroll through Instagram or the internet for inspiration or to find a photographer, they keep seeing these images of done up women with long curly hair, flowy maternity dresses, and endless green fields – do you know what kind I am talking about?

No one prepared me for how fast my daughter’s first year would go! In the blink of an eye, Liliana’s first birthday came, and I obviously wanted to take some photos to document this giant milestone. For the Smash the Cake session, let’s say the cake wasn’t entirely a success and there wasn’t much of a smash...

Happy New Year! A week in and I have had a chance to reflect on what I would like this year to look like in terms of my photography art. I write these personal objectives keeping the lessons from last year in mind and fully knowing that things may change at any minute. Here are my 2021 goals for my photography journey:

A magical way to end my year: spending an afternoon with these lovely parents and their three-month old cutie. Parents often worry about their babies reacting during a session, and I always tell them not to stress about it. The baby will always dictate my pace, and my job is to follow their lead.

This year I partnered with my favorite pediatric dentist office, Grins on Green Bay at Kenilworth, to offer a mini holiday photoshoot in a safe environment.

This year more than ever, lets celebrate the joy of the holiday season by making memories with our little ones. What better way to do it than at a photoshoot!
